The Mob Games 2032 – Murgon, Queensland, Australia marks the beginning of a national cultural journey, guided by the next generation of young Australians who are dreaming bigger for their culture, their communities, Mother Earth and their future.
Held at Murgon State High School in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games, this event will showcase to the world the strength, pride and capability of Australia’s First Nations peoples. It is more than a celebration. It is a platform for learning, leadership and legacy.

Murgon State High School – Learning In Action
Murgon State High School sits at the heart of this initiative, providing a powerful foundation for learning, wellbeing, engagement and culture. With a strong connection to community and Country, the school’s 100 acre farm and Alternative Learning Centre create a unique environment where students gain practical, real world skills. Through the Mob Games and the broader program of works, students will be supported to build capabilities across trades, land care, cultural tourism, sport and event delivery, preparing them with confidence and pathways as they step toward opportunities connected to Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
Cherbourg – Truth Telling, Healing And Unity
The neighbouring Cherbourg community plays a vital role in the journey, offering visitors the opportunity to engage in truth telling and to better understand the history that has shaped this region. Cherbourg will provide a safe and culturally grounded space for reflection, learning and healing. It is a place where stories are shared with honesty and respect, strengthening understanding and reinforcing that we are stronger together when we walk forward as one.

The Mob Games will provide a safe and respectful cultural environment where visitors are invited to engage, learn and connect. Grounded in Community, Culture and Country, the event ensures cultural integrity while creating meaningful shared experiences for all Australians and international guests.
Kids Dreaming Bigger
At the heart of the Mob Games are young people stepping into opportunity. Through initiatives connected to Murgon State High School and the surrounding community, students will develop and apply real world skills across:
▪ Cultural tourism and tour guiding
▪ Performance including dance, song and storytelling
▪ Event operations and logistics
▪ Catering, cleaning and site services
▪ Creative arts and cultural expression
▪ Sport development and event participation
This is education in action. Learning by doing. Building confidence, pride and pathways, with students given the opportunity to showcase these skills on a global stage in the lead up to and during Brisbane 2032.
Showcasing Culture And Sport To The World
Across two days, traditional and contemporary Indigenous sports and cultural practices will come together, alongside modern sporting showcases, including:
▪ Barefoot sprints and traditional games
▪ Spear and boomerang throwing
▪ Dance, song and ceremony
▪ Storytelling that connects generations
▪ Boxing and contact sports exhibitions
▪ NRL and AFL demonstration matches
Leading into Brisbane 2032, the Mob Games will help introduce a new Australian narrative to the world, grounded in respect, connection and shared identity, including the emergence of a new Australian war cry.
Mother Earth At The Centre
This is a celebration of connection to Country. The Mob Games will highlight the importance of caring for land, water and community, reinforcing the wisdom of the world’s oldest living culture and its role in shaping a more sustainable future for all.
The Country, Culture And Community Revitalisation Journey
The Mob Games form part of the broader Country, Culture and Community Revitalisation Journey, a national movement working across 32 sites by 2032. This journey is designed to strengthen communities, revitalise cultural knowledge, create jobs and deliver on Country outcomes that leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Murgon is just the beginning. The Mob Games will become an annual event, travelling across the Nations of Australia, creating a living legacy that continues well beyond 2032.
